In 2013, Associate Professor Greg Goodman collaborated with the Skin Health Institute (SHI) to establish a focus on education in the sub-specialty of cosmetic dermatology. This operated as a business unit within the SHI, with its own Advisory Committee, headed and chaired by Greg Goodman.

Over almost 8 years, the ASCD has grown in activity and number of dermatologist members from across Australia and New Zealand.

The ASCD charter envisaged that at some point the size of ASCD activity would mean it would separate from the SHI and form its own not for profit entity, whilst still operating under the name Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists.

We are pleased to announce that this time has now come, and the ASCD has separated to form the new entity Cosmetic Dermatologists Education Inc. This entity will operate under the same business name Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists.

SHI is delighted to have supported and overseen the beginnings of the ASCD, and now fully support its separation.

The Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists is grateful to the SHI for its support to date and notes that the relationship will continue between the two organisations though a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in future education activities.
